Dear colleagues,
I would like to encourage you to participate in the upcoming NAPB meeting, taking place at ISU August 8-11, 2022. An exciting program<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/iastate.box.com/s/qztnuyxw2thh18k6vugy4c…> is shaping up!
The theme of the conference is the "Past, Present and Future of Plant Breeding." We will take time to celebrate the past, discuss the challenges of today, and explore future prospects in plant breeding through multidisciplinary efforts. We are pleased to have the opportunity to host an in-person annual meeting. The conference will offer a variety of interactive opportunities including a pre-conference tour, dynamic sessions, tours of the North Central Region Plant Introduction Station and Agronomy farm at Iowa State University, and unique evening activities to connect, relax and enjoy.
Deadlines for poster abstract submission and registration at a regular rate are July 8, and July 15, respectively. More information can be found in the NAPB newsletter<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/iastate.box.com/s/92dso2xsrjk2877ina8w6i…> and on the meeting web-site<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.regcytes.extension.iastate.edu/napb2…>.
The NAPB’s annual meeting is an excellent opportunity to connect with public and private breeders and represent the Rosaceae community.
We hope to see you at the 2022 NAPB meeting in Ames!

We are seeking nominations for individuals to serve a three-year term (U.S. members) and two-year term (international liaisons) on the U.S. Rosaceae Genomics, Genetics, and Breeding Executive Committee (RosEXEC). There are five open seats on the 15 member Committee and 3 open seats for international liaisons.
Please consider nominating a colleague you believe would contribute to supporting the mission of RosEXEC:
* Serve as a communication and coordination focal point for the U.S. Rosaceae genomics, genetics and breeding community.
* Define research priorities based on input from the industry and research community.
* Facilitate scientific interaction and foster dynamic research teams.
* Promote research priorities.
* Coordinate educational efforts from the research community to the industry and the public.
Committee members are expected to participate in quarterly telephone conference meetings.
Nominators must contact nominees and confirm willingness to serve on RosEXEC. Nominees should then submit a brief bio and vision statement. A community-wide election will be managed by the Genome Database for Rosaceae in April.
Send nomination packages to Gayle Volk (Gayle.Volk(a)usda.gov), Chair of RosEXEC by April 1, 2022.
