era that will help translate past accomplishments of knowledge and
resources into real applications of cotton improvement. At present, ICGI is
working on a white paper of strategic plans to explore and capture such
expanded possibilities. You are encouraged to provide input to the writing
committee through new chair Tianzhen Zhang and new co-chair Todd Campbell.
As announced early this year, our next biennial research conference will be
held in Rehovot, Israel on August 3-6, 2020. Yehoshua Saranga and Deborah
Art-Weisman of the local organizing committee are currently working with
Dorrie Main and Jing Yu of the CottonGen team to develop an ICGI conference
webpage that will have all necessary information. Please stay involved in
ICGI with the new leadership!

Dear ICGI members:
Per ICGI bylaws, elections are held biennially for the Overall Co-Chair
and all Workgroup Co-Chairs.
After serving two years, the Co-Chairs will assume the respective Chair
positions. Note that both the Chairs and Co-Chairs serve on ICGI's
Executive Steering Committee.
We request a few minutes of your time now, please, to consider candidates
and place your votes for our new Officers. Thanks for your time and input.
The 2019 election for new officers is held from April 1-May 1.
NOTE: We are fortunate in having two or more candidates for every officer
position. BEFORE or DURING VOTING, you can access each candidate's
statement for your choice.
 Go to and read the Election Home Page:
copy- paste this URL to your web browser to open;
 LOGIN INTO YOUR ICGI account that was created by April 1, 2019;
 Click the word ‘*here*’ under ‘ICGI ELECTION’ on the upper-right of
your membership page;
 You can vote for only one candidate per office.
