An Introduction to the Breeding Information Management System (BIMS) and the Field Book App

This one and a half hour webinar will cover a basic introduction on BIMS and the Field Book App and how to use certain features.

BIMS is a secure and comprehensive online breeding data management system available at GDV that allows individual breeders to store, manage, archive and analyze their private breeding program data. Field Book is an android App for data collection which allows breeders to replace hard-copy field books, thus alleviating the possibility of transcription errors while providing faster access to the collected data.

Sook Jung and Taein Lee will go over how to:

create a private breeding program within BIMS
control access levels to the personnel in their program
load data in templates and/or in Field Book App output
filter to build a specific dataset to view stats and download
compare trait values of multiple datasets
edit the data
archive data
create input files for the Field Book App.

After a short break halfway through the webinar Ksenija Gasic will present an overview of how to use Field Book.
