Greetings from Sunny Florida,
Two points of business:
First, I would like to schedule our next conference call. Is Monday
April 16 at 2 pm EST available?
Also, who plans to attend ASHS? Although a complete formal schedule has
not been posted, I suggest that we pencil in Tuesday July 17 at 2pm as a
tentative time to meet in lieu of our July quarterly conference call.
Feelings?
Thank you,
Kevin

Hello Everyone,
Please disregard if this is a duplicate copy of this message. In an
attempt to get it out to everyone some lists will have overlap.
One month ago Amy Iezonni and I presented a community response to Dr. Ed
Kaliekau's request for a list of gaps and priorities in US Rosaceae
research, along with a roadmap for the next directions.
Since then we have learned that apple and peach will be sequenced,
leading to an immediate adjustment and refocusing of research
priorities. We also have been advised to whittle the list down to three
essential priorities rather than a laundry list of all possible research
avenues. With these developments, we now offer the attached document
for your final commentary.

Hello Everyone,
Two orders of business:
1. Please vote for the new RosEXEC secretary. You may view the current slate of Rosexec members on the GDR website under "community" and US RosEXEC if you are interested in how you vote might affect the geographical or species distribution. Please keep in mind that the incumbent will roll into Vice Chair and Chair positions in subsequent years.
Please vote at http://www.bioinfo.wsu.edu/cgi-bin/gdr/gdr_rosexec_secretary_2007_vote_form…, and please try to do so asap. We will complete the process on midnight, February 8, or when all have voted.
Thank you Dorrie for setting up the website.
2. A motion was made at PAG to move the "Three Pillars" position paper forward if we did not hear from Vladimir by January 31. I was in close contact with him before the meeting. I contacted him immediately after PAG with a request for a draft by January 31, 2007.
Tomorrow is February 1. It is beyond time to move forward and I'm open for suggestions as to how to proceed. I'm going to contact Plant Phys to see if they will even accept such a thing at this point.
Thank you, Happy February and please vote early.
Kevin
