Subject: Important Announcement Re: PAG XXIX

PAG Attendee Bulletin
We Are Moving PAG XXIX
(For the Last Time) to January 2022
PAG XXIX (San Diego), which was planned for January 2021, then postponed to March, and then May 2021, will now take place January 8-12, 2022.

At this time, we feel that it will not be possible for the meeting to take place in May, due to the slow roleout of the vaccination process. We will be requiring anyone who attends the meeting to be vaccinated or show proof of a recent negative COVID test. Therefore, we are rescheduling PAG XXIX again, to take place January 8-12, 2022, at the newly renovated Town & Country Hotel in San Diego California.

We are also postponing the PAG ASIA 2021 meeting (Shenzhen, China) to September 22-24, 2021.

Thank You
We would like to thank everyone in the worldwide PAG community for their longtime support and enthusiasm for what has become the largest agricultural/animal genomics meeting in the world. We greatly appreciate your understanding as we try to navigate these unprecedented times together. We hope you and your family and friends stay safe and healthy.

Hotel Renovation is Complete

On a positive note, as of November 2020, the Town & Country Hotel has fully completed their $80 million transformation, and eagerly awaits our return. They have renovated everything from top-to-bottom and have introduced of a host of new resort amenities.

This massive renovation includes new modern guest rooms and meeting spaces, and three new dining outlets including ARLO, its signature stand-alone destination restaurant serving up innovative scratchmade dishes inspired by regional flavors. Lapper is the resort’s poolside bar and eatery, and MRKT is an elevated fast-casual concept with grab-and-go offerings. The property also has a new Lobby Bar offering shared bites, inventive drinks and signature cocktails in a fun mid-century modern lounge.

The resort’s renovation has created an outdoor oasis with the addition of a 10,000 square foot pool complex complete with a zero-entry family pool, hot tub, children’s pool, and a four-story “Twister” waterslide, as well as a brand-new, three-acre Riverfront Park and state-of-the art penthouse fitness center.

I visited the hotel in early October, and can tell you it looks amazingly beautiful. You can view a slideshow of my hotel photos here, and I encourage you to visit the Town and Country Hotel website and Facebook page for more details.
