The symposium will be held July 29 to August 1, 2009 at the Alumni Center located on the Oregon State University (OSU) campus in Corvallis, Oregon. Program Information: IYou are invited to submit papers on DNA-based markers, applications of next-generation sequencing and analytical tools and bioinformatics as they pertain to horticultural crops. You will tour the OSU's CGRB Core Laboratories which provides services in genomics, functional genomics, biocomputing and bioinformatics and the USDA ARS Corvallis genebank where molecular markers are used for managing world collections of hazelnut, pear and many berry crops. During the symposium, you will have an opportunity to explore the state of molecular marker science in 5 sections:
